Sikkim Manipal Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences and Liberal Arts (FHSS&LA) at Sikkim Manipal University is a constituent unit as a centre for research and teaching composed of academics from four different disciplines namely English, Sociology, Political Science and Commerce. Apart from its undergraduate B.A and B. Com courses which include uniquely designed content as per NEP 2020 offered by members of faculty, the SMU unit offers highly interdisciplinary areas of expertise and investigation in its MA, M. Com, and Ph. D programmes. The SMU unit collaborates with related Indian as well as international institutions in projects and workshops to promote and produce cutting-edge work in humanities and social sciences. Placing a high premium on research output and outreach, the unit consistently publishes academic articles, project reports and monographs which corroborate the quality of work undertaken by its faculty, fellows, and researchers.
