The Department of Commerce, Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences and Liberal Arts, in collaboration with The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), organized a Career Awareness Program for the students of B.com and M.com on the 18th of May 2024 from 11.30 to 1 pm at the lecture hall 2, SMIMS building. This program was conducted as part of the MOU that has been signed between ICSI and Sikkim Manipal University. The event was hosted by Ms. Deepa Sharma, Nodal Officer, MoU between ICSI and SMU.
The event's objective was to increase awareness about the importance of a Company Secretary as a professional course.

Key Highlights:

  • Mr. Chiranjeeb Sharma Roy introduced the resource person from the Siliguri chapter of ICSI.
  • CS Ms. Kritika Agarwal made a presentation on the details of the CS program, the future job prospects, examination deadlines, fees, and the various benefits associated with a Company Secretary.
  • The presentation was followed by a highly interactive question-and-answer session.
