The NSS Unit of the Department of Humanities & Social Sciences, Sikkim Manipal University, in collaboration with ICFAI University, Sikkim organised a one-day National Webinar on Youth, Gandhian Philosophy and Global Peace on 2nd October, 2020 to mark the International Day of Non-Violence and The Golden Jubilee Year of NSS on 02nd October 2020. A total of 110 participants attended the webinar from across the country. The webinar was graced by eminent resource persons and speakers who made discourses on the theme of the webinar.
Among the speakers were Prof. Madan Mohan Goel, Former Vice Chancellor & Director RGNIYD Government of India; Prof. (Dr.) Kuldip Chand Agnihotri, Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor, Central University of Himachal Pradesh; Shri Satish Kumar Sawhney, Former Program Advisor, NSS, Government of India; Dr Lalit Kumar, Honorary Senior Adviser, Sulabh International Social Service Organisation and Sri Nabin K. Naik, State Director, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, West Bengal. Shri Madan Chhetri, Programme Coordinator NSS SMU was the Convenor of the event whereas Dr. Nidhi Saxena, Programme Coordinator, NSS, Sikkim University was the Co-Convenor. Shri Hemant K. Yadav, Indira Gandhi NSS Awardee, & National Youth Awardee by GOI contributed as the organising secretary of the webinar.
Shri Kuber Bhandari, Secretary, Department of Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Sikkim graced the occasion as the Chief Guest of the event. Shri Madan Chhetri, Programme Coordinator, NSS, SMU delivered the welcome address in the webinar and the vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Nidhi Saxena, Programme Coordinator, NSS, Sikkim University.
