Overview
BSc Nursing is a four year program. Students have excellent and challenging opportunities to explore nursing through exposure visits to Communities, Primary Health Centres, and Community Health Centres. The college is recognised by the Indian Nursing Council, the regulatory authority for nursing education in India. The degree is awarded by the Sikkim Manipal University.

ELIGIBILITY
- The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on 31st December of the year in which admission is sought. The maximum age limit for admission shall be 35 years. Candidate with Science who have passed the qualifying 12th Standard examination (10+2) and must have obtained a minimum of 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together and passed in English individually.
- Candidate shall be medically fit.

- Graduates will be able to render compassionate, efficient and effective bedside nursing care services to patients/clients at the institutional and community settings
- Graduates will be able to serve as caring, concerned and competent medical-surgical, pediatric, psychiatric and obstetric nurses as well as effective community health nurses
- Graduates will be able to render individualized nursing care to their clients based on each client’s unique health care needs their dignity at all times with a holistic approach and with respect for their opinion, beliefs , culture and traditions, preserving
- Graduates will be able to render community health nursing services with active community participation for inculcating the appropriate health behavior among the family members and the community, preserving beneficial health behavior at the same time towards attainment of the National Health Policy Goals
- Graduates will be able to act as the first level nurse administrators and make independent decisions intelligently in relation to nursing care interventions for their clients
- Graduates will be able to act as teachers of health and effective change agents in improving the health status of the community and for betterment of nursing services
- Graduates will be able to act as responsible members of the inter and multi-disciplinary health team and work in partnership with shared accountability
- Graduates will be able to act as assertive leaders in matters of professional nursing and for up-liftment of the status of nursing as a profession
- Graduates will be able to undertake simple research studies in nursing for innovation and improvement of patient/ client care services.

- Graduates can be -Nurse Clinician, Nurse Educator, Nurse Administrator or Nurse Researcher
- Graduates can work in Government Organization, Non-government Organization, Educational Institution, Community Setting, Army Nursing, Navy Nursing, Railway Nursing, School Health Nursing etc.
- They can serve in the capacity of a staff nurse, sister and/or a supervisor in the branches of Medical Nursing, Surgical Nursing, O.T. Nursing, Critical Care Nursing, Cardiothoracic Nursing, Neurological Nursing, Child Health Nursing, Mental Health Nursing and in Gynae, Maternity and Obstetrical Nursing in hospital set up.
- Community Health Nursing plays an extremely significant role in working for health and in implementing the National Health Programs, especially in MCH & FW programs.
- There is scope of higher studies i.e Masters, M. Phil and Doctorate in nursing, MBA, Hospital Administration, Master degree in Microbiology, Psychology etc.
