As part of the observance of Anti-Ragging Month, a role play was organized on 30th August 2025 with the objective of spreading awareness about the harmful effects of ragging and promoting a culture of respect and harmony among students under the guidance of Mrs. Shashirani Pangambam, Associate Professor and Coordinator of the Anti-Ragging Committee, with assistance from the members of the Student Council.
The program was specially conducted for the 1st semester students, who formed the primary audience. The session began with a brief introduction to the significance of Anti-Ragging Month. The role play, performed by students of 3rd and 5th semester, depicted real-life situations of ragging, its psychological and emotional consequences, and the strict disciplinary actions that follow such acts. The participants effectively conveyed the message through powerful dialogues, expressions, and impactful scenes that resonated strongly with the freshers. The role play concluded with the message that ragging is not only punishable by law but also goes against the values of respect and humanity.
Overall, the role play proved to be an interactive and meaningful initiative, successfully fulfilling its aim of raising awareness and sensitizing students against ragging.
