Event Description:

An awareness program on Operation Sindoor was successfully conducted on 3rd September 2025 at the Seminar Hall of Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology (SMIT). The event aimed to enlighten students and staff about the objectives, significance, and ongoing efforts under the operation. Over 200 participants, including students and staff members, attended the session, reflecting the keen interest and support for the initiative.

The program commenced with a brief introduction about the purpose of the awareness campaign, setting the context for the session. This was followed by a warm welcome extended to the esteemed guest, Brig. Kunal Mukerjee from the 17 Mountain Artillery Brigade, by Prof. (Dr.) Pankaj Chettri, Associate Director (Student Affairs), SMIT.

Brig. Kunal Mukerjee delivered a detailed and informative presentation on Operation Sindoor, outlining its strategic importance, key achievements, and the collaborative efforts involved in its implementation. His address provided valuable insights into the operation's objectives and its relevance to the region, thereby creating a sense of awareness and responsibility among the attendees.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Col. D.B. Chettri, Head Admin, SMIT, who expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the guest speaker for sharing his expertise and to the audience for their active participation.
