Department of Anaesthesiology & Critical Care always serve as the backbone of a Health Care System. Apart from conducting multi-speciality operations in all 12 Operation Theatres of the Institution it remains ever alert to manage critical patients in CCUs, ICUs, all Wards and Accident Cum Casualty Department of the Hospital.
Teaching of Medical Students at both Post-Graduate and Under-Graduate levels, Nursing Students, Physiotherapy Students, Paramedics & practically training them the best art and skill of Resuscitation, Life Support-Techniques and Critical Care have been the motto of the Department.
This department support Surgeries for Gastro-enterology, Urology, Interventional Cardio & Radiology, Oncology, Reconstructive, Obs & Gyn, Neuro, Ortho, Ophthalmology, ENT, Facio-Maxillary& Other Diagnostic procedures
The Department has faculty members who are AHA Certified BLS & ACLS instructors as well as certified BASIC instructors. These faculty members are involved in teaching life saving skills to all the hospital staffs and students, hence improving the level of care being imparted to the patients.

- The department has a 24-hour peri-operative service, apt enough to handle any kind of surgical emergencies and critical care of the patients and is committed to evidence based practice, continuous quality improvement, research and teaching.
- The department provides expertise in airway management, resuscitation, and trauma management.
- Courses in airway and Bronchoscopy training and advanced life support training are routinely held by the department.
- The department has educational tie-ups with various other hospitals and institutes in the region to ensure continuous quality enhancement.
- The department has a dedicated pre-anaesthetic check-up clinic and pain clinic in order to ensure maximum exposure to trainee students.
