Participation in Start-Up Mahakumbh 2024

IIC, E-Cell, SMIT nominated four incubated Start-ups to exhibit at Start-Up Mahakumbh 2024, held at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from 18th March 2024 till 20th March 2024. More than 700 Start-Ups and Industry leaders setup exhibition booths and conducted keynotes as well as interacted with officials from Government of India.

The Agendas for the participation were:

1. Establishing partnerships with other start-ups/organisations.
2. Explore collaborative options with like-minded organisations.
3. Demonstrate products developed by IIC-SMIT Start-Ups.
4. Gain valuable insights into government policies and establish connections with industry influencers.

The event was started off by a brief note by Shri Piyush Goyal, Minister of Textiles, Government of India and opened the floor of the exhibition hall where Start-Ups were designated booths to demonstrate their products/prototypes and interact with other Start-ups, officials, and visitors.

Anecdotes from the participants:

Bodhisattva Das (EQCAPITAL PVT LTD):

Having had previous experience at FinTech Festival India 2024 and D2C Summit 2024, the scale of participation, both from a visitor perspective as well as the sheer number of start-ups stood out to me. During the three days I attended multiple insightful keynotes along with meetings and discussions notably with the following:

• Prof. Ajay K. Sood, Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India: Held a discussion on the importance of a start-up nurturing ecosystem for nation development.
• AVTECHFIN: Held discussions over EQCAPITAL providing a consultation to AVTECHFIN over their product development. Follow-up meetings are planned for the same.
• Evatoz Solutions Pvt. Ltd.: Conducted a discussion over potential technology sharing for their proprietary EV Charging Solution.
• Venture Garage Consultancy Pvt. Ltd.: EQCAPITAL was proposed an opportunity to raise funds through them for EQCAPITAL's prototype development. Further discussions for the same have been scheduled.
• EQ for AI: Discussed the potential implementation of their technology into EQCAPITAL's prototype. Further discussions have been scheduled.

Yash Jha(Eco Hues):

personal knowledge and connections in my fields of interest. At the bustling startup event, entrepreneurs from diverse fields congregated, fostering a vibrant atmosphere ripe for networking. Engaging discussions and dynamic presentations fuelled innovative ideas, sparking collaborations and partnerships. Amidst the energetic buzz, I seized the opportunity to expand my network, forging connections with like-minded individuals and industry leaders. Exchanging insights and experiences, I gleaned valuable knowledge while sharing my own expertise. The event served as a catalyst for growth, propelling my entrepreneurial journey forward with newfound contacts and potential collaborators. With each interaction, I cultivated relationships poised to catalyse future ventures and elevate my entrepreneurial endeavours.

Peela Sharandeep (Khaana Khazaana):

This being my first ever business event was nothing less than a wonderful experience .Through this event I was able to interact with many people who shared similar interests in business. I was able to see other people's projects and their inspirations and motives behind it. I had gained insight on how to run a successful business. This event gave me an opportunity to put myself out and was able to introduce my business ideas to everyone. Through the social interactions and networking I was able to meet people who were interested in my business idea.

I would like to thank the organizers for this event. I am grateful for being part of such a successful event. I would also like to thank the college for providing me with an opportunity like this where I could learn and introduce my idea to others.

Arka Bera (GripFlex):

Startup Mahakumbh was one of the most important and impactful event I have attended till date . delegations from across 10 countries and start-ups more than thousands is was a event full of knowledge and ideas , it shows how we can address a problem and solve it in a unique way , it also shows us how we can create a successful business from scratch not only a business but how we can create an impact in this world with our creative thinking and mindful solutions. This place did not only give show us the ideas it also gave us the platform to do networking with help us to create ideas and take help from other creators , not everyone is a competitor but many could be a possible companion. This place shows how we can collaborate and work together.

It was a blessing to be a part of this event where not only Shri Narendra Modi ji took part but also, but this this event saw like of Aman Gupta and many more top companies CEOs'. This event also saw multiple numbers of incubators and personalities that have immense knowledge in the field of start-ups , getting to know their journey, the hardships they faced creating the empire we know today is a motivation in itself. At the end, I would also like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the visitors who did not know came to see our products and creations but also gave us their extremely valuable inputs, suggested changes that we can incorporate in our plans .

Once again I would like to thank SIKKIM MANIPAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY for giving us the opportunity to attend this extremely important event.

Brikchana Karki (GripFlex):

I took part in Start Up Mahakumbh held in New Delhi on 18-20 March where I exhibited my start up, attended master classes and sessions on entrepreneurship and build a network with other like-minded venture founders, visitors, incubators, and investors.

The event was truly a wind-whirl of unique experiences and lessons where I got an opportunity to exhibit my start-up and gain suggestions and insights on how to proceed further on making my start-up a hit. Since my venture is in its ideation phase, this event was really a great help to build my understanding on how to build a start-up and how it works. I came across hundreds of aspiring youths like me who own local businesses, and this really encouraged me to a great level.

In the first day of the event, we explored magnificence of the venue and got well acquainted with the pods in which we'd exhibit. On the second day, we attended sessions conducted by many Indian Unicorns and businesspersons held in Bharat Mandapam. There they shared their story and gave incredible advice to young venture founders. I dedicated the 3rd day fully on pitching about my start-up. We also got another wonderful opportunity to attend an address given by honourable PM Narendra Modi which again was fruitful and insightful.
