Three alums visited the department of CSE and held an enlightening discussion with the faculty members on 30 September 2023. The dialogue spanned on a wide range of topics including research, latest trends in the industry, changing dynamics of education and work culture, entrepreneurship and side hustle, the changed worldview of the alums after stepping out of college, and a myriad of ideas about the future. Mr. Ahren Pradhan, B.Tech in CSE graduate of the year 2020 enthusiastically discussed about his future plan of delving into entrepreneurship and his ongoing work of developing the Minimum Viable Product(MVP). Prof.(Dr.) Udit Kr. Chakraborty, the HOD of Computer Science and Engineering department encouraged Mr. Ahren Pradhan to start his entrepreneurial journey at the Atal Incubation Centre facility available within the campus. Mrs. Sujata Ghatak and Mr. Snehashis Bhattacharjee, both graduated in MCA in the year 2011 and M.Tech(CSE) in the year 2013 had insightful discussion on their ongoing PhD research work. During the informal meeting alums also had candid moments of banter recalling their days as a student in the department. All faculty members present congratulated the alums for their continued good work and encouraged them to climb up higher on the ladders of success while living by the values imparted by the department of CSE and Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology. Faculty members also ensured all support needed in future in whatever way it would be possible.
