SMU FHSSLA Celebrates its 11th Foundation Day

The faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences and Liberal Arts celebrated its 11th Foundation Day on 25th September 2023 at the SMIMS auditorium. The programme was graced by Hon'ble Chief Guest Shri. G. T. Dhungel, MLA Upper Tadong Constituency. The event started with lighting of the lamp followed by the national anthem and felicitation of the chief guest. Ms. Srijana Sharma, Convenor, FHSSLA, delivered a welcome note, followed by the presentation of the Annual Report by Dr. Madan Chettri, Coordinator, FHSSLA. Mr. G.T. Dhungel delivered an enlightening speech on the importance of education, social and family values, and entrepreneurship. Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, AVM. (Dr.) Dilip Chandra Agarwal addressed the gathering, highlighting the importance of Humanities, Social Sciences and Liberal Arts in recent NEP curricula and ended his note with an illuminating speech. The event also witnessed the distribution of awards to the meritorious students in the fields of Academics, Co-Curricular, NSS, and EDC Cell. Students performed cultural activities like songs, dances, and drama. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Deepa Sharma, Assistant Professor, FHSSLA.
