On the occasion of Founders' Day, 88th birthday of our beloved president Dr. Ramdas M Pai held at the Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology (SMIT) campus on 17th September 2023, the Forum2k student society, Department of Information Technology (IT) organized two impactful events in association with esteemed partners.

The events included a Blood Donation Drive in collaboration with Central Referral Hospital and a Free Eye Checkup Camp in partnership with Optima Vision, Siliguri. The objective was to engage and serve the campus community while promoting the spirit of philanthropy and healthcare awareness.

Blood Donation Drive: The Blood Donation Drive was conducted successfully with the active participation of students and faculty members. A total of 24 individuals voluntarily donated blood, contributing to a critical resource for medical emergencies and treatment. This act of selflessness showcased the commitment of the SMIT community to making a positive impact on society. The partnership with Central Referral Hospital facilitated the smooth execution of this event, ensuring the highest standards of safety and medical care.

Free Eye Checkup Camp: In collaboration with Optima Vision, a renowned eye care institution, a Free Eye Checkup Camp was organized as part of the Founders' Day celebrations. A total of 86 students and faculty members availed themselves of this opportunity to assess their ocular health. The camp provided comprehensive eye examinations, including vision testing and screening for common eye conditions. This initiative aimed to raise awareness about eye health and promote early detection and treatment of eye disorders, ultimately contributing to the well-being of the campus community.
