A one-day sensitization program on the National Education Policy (NEP 2020) was organized by Group A on 3rd June 2023, formed by the Director of SMIT, in reference to circular Ref: SMIT/Dir Corr/24/2023 dated March 2023. Group A has the following members:

  1. Dr. Jyotika Sharma (Coordinator)
  2. Dr. Amit Kumar Roy
  3. Dr. Tanushree Bose
  4. Mr. Ashis Pradhan
  5. Mr. Sanjeev Kumar

All the members have discussed during the meetings called by Coordinator Dr. Jyotikla Sharma based on which the talks were prepared.

The program was held to sensitize the faculty and staff members of the Department of Computer Science Engg. A total of 14 faculty and Staff members attended the program, which focused on various key topics outlined in NEP 2020 as follows:

  1. The New Vision for India's Higher Education System
  2. Guiding Principles of NEP 2020
  3. Equitable and Inclusive Education
  4. Re-Imaging Vocational Education, and
  5. Reforms in Higher Education.

Dr. Jyotika Sharma inaugurated the program by discussing the new vision for India's Higher education System. She also explained the purpose and requirement of NEP 2020. Dr. Jyotika urged everyone to go through the NEP 2020 document for better understanding.

Mr. Ashis Pradhan explained the guiding principal and equitable & Incluision Education system proposed in NEP 2020.

Dr. Tanushree Bose first explained why vocational education is important for India's education system and finally concluded the session by explaining the steps to be taken by HEIs for restructuring the education system as per NEP 2020.

The session was interactive and many faculty members shared their valuable views regarding the proposal.
