DESCRIPTION/REPORT WITH GEO-TAGGED PHOTOGRAPH OR SCREEN SHOTS:
A seminar on Startups &
Entrepreneurship was successfully conducted on 10th April 2025 at 10:00 AM in
the CDOE Conference Hall. The event was organized with the objective of
promoting awareness, fostering innovation, and nurturing an entrepreneurial
mindset among educators and academic facilitators.
The seminar was led by Mr. Pankaj
Anand, Senior Manager at MeitY Startup Hub (MSH), Ministry of Electronics and
IT. Mr. Anand was warmly welcomed with a traditional khada by Dr. Ishwer
Shivakoti, Assistant Director, CDOE.
All faculty and staff members of
CDOE enthusiastically participated in the seminar, showcasing a keen interest
in the topic.
Mr. Anand began the session by
outlining the objectives of the seminar, emphasizing the importance of
innovation in the current educational and industrial landscape. He elaborated
on the different types of innovation and stressed the critical role of teaching
professionals in nurturing future entrepreneurs through effective mentorship
and guidance.
He discussed the concept of
capacity building for startups, highlighting how academic institutions can
contribute towards strengthening the startup ecosystem. A major focus was
placed on the funding schemes available through MeitY Startup Hub (MSH),
and the various support mechanisms offered by the Government of India for
aspiring entrepreneurs.
Mr. Anand also illustrated the
benefits of entrepreneurship, particularly in terms of job creation and
economic development. He shared key insights and important pointers to consider
while starting up, including the necessity of DPIIT registration for new
startups.
An important segment of the
seminar was the mention of the Atal Incubation Centre at SMIT under SMU,
which serves as a local example of successful government-academic collaboration
for innovation.
The session was highly
interactive, with faculty and staff engaging in a lively discussion, asking
questions and sharing ideas related to entrepreneurship and the startup
ecosystem.
The seminar concluded with a vote
of thanks extended to Mr. Pankaj Anand for his valuable insights and
inspiring talk.
Conclusion:
The seminar served as an excellent platform for capacity building and
motivation among academic professionals to further support and mentor the next
generation of entrepreneurs. It was a meaningful step towards integrating
entrepreneurial thinking into the academic environment.
