BRIEF DESCRIPTION/REPORT:

The Student Research Forum successfully conducted a knowledge-rich session on “The Problem Engineering: Designing Solutions for Complex Challenges” on 29th March 2025 at the Seminar Hall, SMIT. The event featured the esteemed Dr. Sudipta Bhattacharya, a respected academician from Bengal Institute of Technology, Kolkata, known for his expertise in innovative problem-solving and research methodologies.

The session commenced at 5:15 PM with a warm welcome speech by Ritusree Das, introducing Dr. Bhattacharya and setting the stage for the topic. The speaker delved into the concept of problem engineering, emphasizing the importance of defining problems clearly before jumping into solutions. He discussed real-life case studies, shared practical insights, and encouraged students to develop a structured approach to solving complex challenges.

Dr. Bhattacharya also highlighted the intersection of problem-solving with emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, inspiring students to apply critical thinking and creativity in their academic and research pursuits.

The session concluded with an interactive Q&A round where students asked thoughtful questions ranging from beginner-level queries to real-world application advice. Dr. Bhattacharya patiently addressed all queries and provided valuable guidance to aspiring researchers.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across departments and was appreciated for its relevance, clarity, and practical value. It not only expanded students' understanding of problem-solving frameworks but also encouraged them to think innovatively and approach research with confidence.
